The theme of Journey for a photography subject is in an interesting one as there are many different ways to portray and show a Journey. In the images above The Journey has been captured through photographing paths and roads where the travelling aspect of The Journey would be taking place, to me this is a really clear and straight forward way of showing the theme and is a good idea that I could use for my own work. I really like the photographs that I have chosen above for various reasons that differ with each photo, however in particular I adore the photograph that shows two men walking in the distance down the railway tracks, to me this links to a historical reference due to the colour that the image has been shown in and also because men trying to find work during the great depression in 1929 would often bunk trains and follow along the train tracks. The Journey in this specific image is interesting and the photo makes me think more about why and where they are travelling to. Another image that caught my eye out of the examples is the one that shows a road in the desert with some signs, a building and a flag. This image is in complete contrast to the older style photo as its rather colourful and has no people, however the flag suggests a specific place and the road to the side of the photo leading of into the background makes me believe that the setting being shown is only somewhere that is often passed through by people trying to reach an alternative location. I think that both of these images have aspects that would largely help my own ideas by taking certain areas and including them within my own work, altering them to impact and bring up the standard of my photography. I really like this style of using roads to indicate where journeys are taking place. I would happily conduct my own shoot in this way, while trying to add my own spin and ideas onto it.
