The Journey- Image Bank 4
All of the Photographs above I believe where taken by the same Photographer Lee Friedlander. These images show a Journey from a different perspective than any other way I have looked at through my time researching. The use of photographing from inside his car, making sure to include the car within the shot, to show his journey from place to place is a creative one. It uses a recurring object placed in different setting which indicates the idea that it has moved to a new locations therefore meaning that a journey must have taken place at some point. I feel that the photos that include the car side mirror are all linked showing one specific journey because the same technique has been used in each photograph. The other two images however show a journey using the same style but in an alternative way to the ones already mentioned, they show the car and setting however the main aspect of the image that is being seen is the car, this could be because the car is the thing doing the transporting, its the main cause for the journey taking place. I feel that using the car as a starting point for a shoot would be a really good idea and is a way in which one of my shoots could dramatically develop. I really like this idea and the photographs connected to this style of photography portraying a journey.
